More than twenty years ago, an ICU nurse asked Dr. Ann Gordon to provide something for a patient’s severe skin breakdown caused by incontinence and diarrhea.
Being a biochemist, Dr. Gordon ordered a topical with all the active agents she knew were needed. When the pharmacist couldn’t find one, she had it compounded. It worked beautifully. The Nurses loved it and dubbed it ‘Dr. Gordon’s Bum Cream’.
The problem is – twenty years later, we’re still compounding it… because there’s literally been no innovation in generations.

The incidence of MASD across healthcare averages 30% - higher among the elderly and in acute care setting.
This hidden problem impacts institutions - including formal home care, nursing homes, acute care hospitals, and military healthcare - as well as consumers where it disproportionately affects elders, women's health, infants, obese and immobile person and also athletes.
And this problem is going to grow by 20% over the next 20 years as the population ages - creating a greater need for effective products also while putting pressure on our healthcare service providers.
